This is a magnificent antique
Persian Bakhshaish carpet from the northwest of Iran. Bakhshaish,
a tribe in the Azerbaijan province of Iran, became victim of
modernization and much of its qualified weavers migrated to
larger cities in search of industrial jobs. Although, there
are no more carpets produced by the Bakhshaish people, they
still remain the most sought after and collectible carpets among
the decor professionals as well as private collectors. These
carpets were exclusively made in vegetable dyes along with high-quality
wool for both domestic and European markets. This is a great
example of Bakhshaish workmanship in its highest form. A beautiful
